Talmadge is a lovely single family home development established in San Diego in the late 1930s and promoted by the silent movie stars The Talmadge Sisters and Buster Keaton.

 

With its winding streets and tidy lawns (many now water-wise) Talmadge has a nostalgic "Leave it to Beaver" feel,

 

While many residents want to live in Talmadge forever, as some families grow they feel their 1930's homes need a bit more room and updating. Yet they don't want the home to lose its charm.

For this project, the homeowner wanted to transform their two car garage into an office and an extra living area.

Special design touches such as the arched step-down entry and lighted wall niches help the space match the spirit of Talmadge.
